We
are a friendly, family-oriented park, for both seasonal and overnight
camping, located on the shore of beautiful Arran Lake. The lake is about
5 miles in length and one-half mile wide, with excellent fishing for
large and small mouth bass, pike and perch. Motor boats are permitted,
but you can also take a leisurely paddle around the lake in a canoe
and see the beautiful water lillies in bloom, and maybe you will spot
the turtles. Or, you may just want to sit on a bench and watch the sun
sparkle on the water. Summer dreams are made of
this. If you are here when the moon is full, watch for it coming up over the lake. It looks like a huge orange ball and makes a shiny path right across the lake. On clear nights, the view of the stars is absolutely incredible. You will be amazed at how many there are. If you are really lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. Our park is a haven for a multitude of birds; from the tiny humming bird to the large sand hill cranes. If you are hearing the sound of these cranes for the first time, you may wonder what it is. Then, of course, there's the unique, haunting sound of the loons, and we hope you will ... |
